Bettas (chinese fighting fish) are very easy to care for. Feed them 2-3 times a week, can keep in a small bowl, keep out of dierect sunlight. Clean bowl once a week to once a month.
To change the water in a fish bowl effectively, follow these steps: Use a clean container to hold the fish while you clean the bowl. Remove the fish and place it in the container with some of the old water. Carefully pour out the old water from the fish bowl. Rinse the bowl with warm water, but do not use soap or cleaning agents. Fill the bowl with fresh, dechlorinated water that is the same temperature as the old water. Gently place the fish back into the clean water.
4 days each like every 4 days you clean the bowl does not matter if its cold water fish or warm
Take the fish(s) out and put them ether in a bucket or big bowl then you are free to clean the fishtank. Make sure the bucket/bowl has a fair amount of water in it.
When you are changing the water in a fish bowl, you have to empty cup ot bowl with water in it. Then, put it into clean water.
First get a bucket of water, and put the same volume as is in the bowl in the bucket. Let the bucket sit over night, and put water conditioner in it. Net the fish out of the bowl, and put it in the bucket with the new water. Rinse the bowl out, and sponge the inside to remove any algae. Clean, and put back the gravel and ornaments. Pour the water and fish back into the clean bowl. DONT USE SOAP.

A fish will most likely die if you put a cleaning agent in its fish bowl without removing the fish. You should remove your fish with a net and place it in another safe container until fish bowl is clean.
