According to the 1996 Mercury Mystique Scheduled Maintenance Guide :
The timing belt for the 2.0 liter four cylinder engine is changed at :
( 60,000 mile intervals )
According to Gates ( they manufacture timing belts etc. ) starting with the 1998 model of the Mercury Mystique - it shows to inspect the timing belt at 120,000 miles and replace if necessary on the 2.0 L - 4 cylinder engine
The 1994 Mercury Topaz has a chain and not a belt.
Timing chains will normally last the life of the engine. You replace it when the engine is overhauled or if it becomes noisy.
Replace it every 105,000 miles.
i have a 2004 Mitsubishi endeavor . i was wondering how often you would sugest replacing the timing belt .
100,000 miles
The first timing belt change is at 60,000 miles.
V6 RAV4 seems to have a timing chain which does not need any periodic maintenance
every 60,000 miles is recommended
100,000 miles.
You should never have to replace it. The timing chain is designed to last the life of the engine. It is normally replaced when the engine is overhaul.
There is no recommended replacement interval given for the chain replacement timing belts are critical, chains are not.
