i heard that you can bath them every 2 weeks and bring them to the groomers every 6 weeks also if you were to have a mixed breed you would check on the other breed and come up with somewhere in between
Shih Tzu should be bathed only when necessary, may be once in a month and must be dried properly after each bath. Its coat needs to be brushed 4-5 times a week with a firm bristle brush to avoid any tangles and matt.
Every 5 days w/ long cut and a 1 hour brushing every day. or 2-3 weeks with short cut
i would say once a month but if they get alot of stuff in their fur like leafs sticks and twigs make shore to wash that out or they can get rashes
dog food.
Shih tzu in general are not barkers. I'm not familiar with Maltese, but my shih tzu X Maltese is very much like a shih tzu. Not a barker at all. As a matter of fact, as a puppy, she barely made a sound at all. Even these days, when excited, she mostly runs around and wags her tail.
Short nose breeds tend to get hair that gets into the nostrils which causes them to sneeze. But you maltese X shih tzu could have certain allergies or maybe even the flu.
Hey, You don't have to have a fancy name for a Maltese Shih Tzu mix... Most of the time breeders refer to them as a; Maltese Shih Tzu If you really want to, you can shorten the two names to come up with something like; Maltzu, or Maltshih... I would go with Maltese Shih Tzu as it is a more well-known name... But it is your choice... Hope this helps ;) when i got my dog from a long island breeder she called her a shi-malt
Maltese have longer hair then Shitzu,s and they are white Maltese but Shitzu,s can be brown.
She is most likely a Maltese, though she may be a shih-tzu.
Sure, either a shih tzu or a Maltese should be able to wobble their bottom jaw all over the place. It's heriditary.
None, a Shih-tzu is a Shih-tzu. But it can be mixed with other dogs.
The Shih Tzu
All dogs shed fur. Some dogs shed a lot and some not as much. It depends on the breed. But, Maltese/Shih-Tzu mixes don't shed much. You can't tell when they shed though, because their fur is so thin that it seems like nothing.
The plural of Shih Tzu is "Shih Tzu". "Shih Tzu" was originally a Chinese word and Chinese words do not have separate singular and plural forms.
Yes, Shih Tzu has an undercoat.
