As for flea shampoo, my personal opinon is that any shampoo that lathers will actually kill fleas on the dog, because the foam gets into their lungs and they suffocate. I use frontline on my dog, and it works really well. And if you have problems with fleas, now ask your vet about getting a capstar pill, it will kill them within 24 hours.
