It depends. Your owner's manual specifies every 7,500 miles for normal driving conditions but most people agree that this is not often enough. Many motorists change their oil every 3,000 miles to avoid engine wear. Most, however, change their oil every 4,000 to 5,000 miles. If you drive in extreme conditions such as dusty desert conditions, towing, or if your average trip length is less than 3 miles (your engine doesn't have the opportunity to completely warm up) then you should change your oil every 2,500 miles. Under all circumstances, your oil should be changed at least once every 12 months.
