the website that i go to for gerbils is http://www.twinsqueaks.com/index.php they have great advice for gerbils.
The gerbils have to be 7 weeks old to be able to sell them.
most gerbils have to be 3 weeks or older
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Gerbils-Hamsters-2005/ I don't know why this is happening, even though I do know a lot about them (I am not calling myself an expert) but go to that link, and if you can't find anything helpful, try asking the question youself. I hope you find it really hopeful, and that the gerbils end up okay.
Yes. I have a friend and she has gerbils that are over one year old. They have had babies. In a gerbils lifespan gerbils have around 15 litters of babies.
3 years old

Pick up the gerbil and push its eye lid up.
No way. They'll start attacking each other. =/

They vary, most gerbils grow to 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) long [not including the tail; up to 12 inches including the tail]. Great Gerbils, the largest gerbils, grow up to 8 inches (20 cm) long [not including tail; up to 16 inches including the tail].
