Well, when they are weened, I have bunnies, and what I do is I put Bunny food in the cage (leaves work) and watch them, and once the baby bunnies start eating hard food they are ready to be separated from their mother.

Babies can be separated from the mother between 6-8 weeks. Some people believe it best to take the babies out 2 a day until they are all gone. Most rabbits mature around 3 months but should not be bred until 6 months. If they are not separated by 3 months they will mate with the opposite gender and try to kill those of the same gender. Rabbits are territorial and should never be kept together for too long due to the cycle and nature of a rabbit and their breeding abilities.

By three months they should have their own cages. Some baby bucks will try to breed at that age. If they are successful it MAY stunt their growth and they will never reach mature adult weight. Some females will also breed at this age and a three month old rabbit having babies is NOT something you want, the babies usually won't live, and it is really hard on the young does. Plus there is the fact that they will start fighting at this age. Male rabbits WILL kill each other because they are territorial, at the very least they will castrate each other.

What will happen if you keep the baby rabbits?

If you have already taken in wild baby rabbits, chances are very high that their mother will not take them back. Mother rabbits will abandon their young if the baby bunnies, smell of human rather than rabbit. Baby rabbits can be fed warm cream using miniature baby bottles, if need be. Place the baby rabbit on its back, as this is the way it would be suckling from its mother, and place the nipple of the bottle in front of its mouth. Please note: It is best to leave wild life of any kind alone, the best thing to do for the safety of animals taken in from the wild, is to call animal services.

Can you cuddle pet baby rabbits?

Yes, but be careful not to hurt them and make sure that you give them back to their mother regularly so that they can feed. If the mother gets upset it is best not to take them from her to cuddle.

Does the mother hamster get sad when you take away her babies after four weeks?

Well if you take away all of her babies then yes she will feel some lonesome and it may cause her to wine, scratch, runny nose. But if you leave at least one baby hamster with her she will not be upset and none of those symtyms above will happen. So i recomend you sell all of them(exept one.)and give the one you have not sold to the mother hamster and take care of her. p.s. you will not have to take care of the baby as much as you take care of the mother because the mother will take care of the baby but do feed her and love her as the mother hamster does. I HOPE I HELPED!!!(: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
