Well if you take away all of her babies then yes she will feel some lonesome and it may cause her to wine,scratch,runny nose.But if you leave at least one baby hamster with her she will not be upset and none of those symtyms above will happen.So i recomend you sell all of them(exept one.)and give the one you have not sold to the mother hamster and take care of her. p.s. you will not have to take care of the baby as much as you take care of the mother because the mother will take care of the baby but do feed her and love her as the mother hamster does. I HOPE I HELPED!!!(: MERRY Christmas!

How long should you wait to hold a baby hamster?

Raising Hamster BabiesDo not disturb the litter for at least 14 days. If the nest is disturbed the mother may kill the babies and eat them. If one of the babies gets away from the others, don't worry, the mother will retrieve it. The cage should be cleaned two weeks after birth and the babies should be separated from the mother at 28 days. Also be sure to to separate the Mother and babies from the daddy hamster. The daddy hamster will harm the babies and the mom always needs to be with her babies.{

How do mother hamster take care of their young?

When the female hamster gives birth, it is very important not to touch the nest or babies and avoid cleaning the cage for the first 3 weeks or else the female hamster could panic and kill the hamster babies. If it is really necessary to 'clean' a cage area while the mother hamster is nursing her babies, you should only use a small piece of tissue to 'clean' the cage but avoid touching the nest area. Provide additional bread soaked in milk in a small food bowl as this will provided extra proteins both for the mother and baby hamsters. The cage should be placed in a quiet room and away from noises, since noises can cause the mother hamster stress. The babies can be separated from the mother hamster when they are 4 weeks old since at that age they are sexually mature. In the case of dwarf hamsters, you can keep the female baby hamsters with the mother and separate the male baby hamsters and keep them in another cage to avoid mating. Never introduce the male baby hamsters to the father since he will not accept them and the babies will be afraid.

What is the symptoms of a pregnant hamster?

How to check if pregnant? Simple - wait for a week. Feed it normally, treat it normally, train it normally, do everything completely normally. In a week, if its pregnant, it will become fatter and a bit slower, it will often make nests or just one outside of its normal bed and won't trust you that much. If all of the things I just told you are true, the hamster is probably pregnant. Wait another week or so. In that time, change the sawdust 5 days after one week of pregnancy. When the hamster gives birth, you can only watch. Do NOT change the sawdust for 2 weeks after she gives birth OR touch the mother, babies or ANYTHING available in the cage for the mother. Just give her food and water. After 2-3 weeks from birth, change the female from the male babies. After 4 weeks give the babies away

My hamster just had babies and I'd like to know When can you handle them and their mother?

Thanks for the help, she had 10 of them. Unfortunately they are all at new homes now as I've given them away. She was never aggressive really, she was glad to get away from them! Anyways, thanks again!2 weeks. It takes you 2 weeks for you to be able to hold the baby hamsters, and after the mother has the babies she will be an aggressive hamster so she might bite you if you get near her.

What to do if one of the hamster babies dies after 3 weeks?

Ok this is what you do. Wash your hands really good. Then put on some gloves and remove the dead hamster. Put it in a bag and throw it away. You do this so the mother hamster doesn't smell your scent because if you touch another baby with your hand she will eat her babies. Hopes this helps.

Can a rabbit be given away at 3 weeks of age?

no babies must stay with their mother for at least 6 weeks!!

What do you do once your hamster has babies?

You leave them alone. Until they're about two weeks old you aren't even supposed to look at the babies for too long, let alone touch them. If you touch or disturb the babies too much, or at all before two weeks, the mother hamster may eat them or neglect them until they die. After about two weeks you can hold and touch the babies but you have to be careful and make sure it's okay with the mom hamster. At about three to four weeks you are supposed to separate the hamsters from the mother and into their own cage. At six weeks you're supposed to separate them by sex. Some places say it's alright to start selling or giving away baby hamsters at four weeks while others say six. It's really up to the baby hamsters. If they are drinking water by themselves and eating by themselves they should be ready to go.

What do you need 4 your hamsters babies?

you will need to keep your hamster in her cage for 4 weeks before you start pick her up again but be careful as she could bite you because she is look out for her babies don't worry if she goes away for her babies.

When can you put the male hamster back with the baby hamsters?

Of course, the mother hamster is there, but the male hamster, or any others, should be kept away for up to several weeks. It is likely they would upset the mother or even attack the newborns. Do not handle the babies because if you touch them, they will pick up your scent and the mother may ignore or even eat them (!).
