It depends on how well they have been raised. I have had them going through the motions at 6 to 8 weeks and I have had young females gravid at that age too. When line breeding, in order to separate the sexes early I used to use testosterone. This makes the males colour up before they develop a gonopodium. That way I could keep the females virgin until I had the right males to put across them to get the breeding I desired.

They should be close to fully grown by the time they are 3 or 4 months old.

Although they are often sexually mature at around three months, full growth isn't reached for several months after that.

Guppies usually start off colorless and you can tell if they are fully grown is when they look almost the same size as their parents and gained some visible colors
