Hi there!! Yellow bellied turtles usually mate when about 2-5 years old. If your turtles arnt mating its probably because their 1. Sick 2. same sex 3.just dont feel to I hope that this answer helps you!
I'm not sure but the fact that it's yellow bellied increases its value by 6 percent.
Most turtles are ready around 4-9 years old
5 months-6 months.
A general age guess can be gained by simply looking at the size of the turtle. Yellow bellied and red ear sliders will reach approximately the size of a dinner plate when full grown.
I assume you are referring to yellow-bellied sliders (Trachemys scripta scripta). Most sliders reach maturity at age 4 to 8, and maturity times and sizes vary a lot. In general, a female should be at least 8 inches long. It's unwise to house male and female turtles together unless you are breeding them. A male will harass the female to mate, and she may get fed up with him at some point, and let him have it--then you have vet visits to treat the wounds, which can be serious. Additionally, if he 'convinces' her to mate and she is really too small/immature, she could suffer physically from producing a clutch before her body is entirely ready. Effects may including hypocalcemia or egg binding (which requires surgery to correct in some cases...if it's caught. If not, it is deadly).
unless you had it from the time he was born, you can't tell. counting the rings on it's shell DOES NOT work.
their moms come up on land and lay eggs then their mom leaves
20 years probally
crickets and mealworms
Females have to be about 5-7 years old, 7 in. long. Males 2-5 years, old 4 inches long.
A yellow back turtle or yellow-bellied slider is an aquatic terrapin which has evolved to live in warm waters. There is no definitive way in determining how old it is and the rings on its shell are not conclusive in gauging its years of age.
Turtles do have long life spans, but they can still die of old age.
