well, you must look at your child. think, is my child mauture enough to stay home alone? remember to tell him/her to not answer the door no matter what, and not answer the phone at all, unless you have caller ID and you or a fiend calls. depending on how old your child is, you shold alow him to play at a fiends house or out in your yard, but not indoors with other children. Also tell your child to come indoors after a certin time, such as when it gets dark. Something that you could do is tell your child to ONLY have fun, such as use the computer, watch Cartoons, or play Video Games to ensure he is too preoccupied to do anything bad. hope this helped.

18

Answer18. AnswerThe age of majority in Iowa is 18, therefore anyone under 18 is considered to be a minor, so their parents have the right to decide where they can/cannot live. I don't believe the option of early emancipation is even available in Iowa (not all states have emancipation laws). Of course, you are considered to be emancipated before the age of 18 if you get married or join the military--both of which require parental consent.
