Resident and nonresident youth that are or will be at least 12 years old on December 31 of the current year, and are younger than 18 years old on June 30 of the current year, may purchase a license and hunt the entire season. Youth must also completed the HuntSAFE program and possess a HuntSafe card. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
The minimum is 12 years old. If the child is 12-13 years then they can only hunt on private land. The minimum age for state land is 14. All under the age of 18 must be with an adult. Check your local DEP officers for specific youth rules.
