Without a serial number, it is impossible to tell how old this or any instrument would be. Even a picture or detailed description of the unit would at least allow someone to narrow down a range of years (if not serial was available).

If you have not made a typographical error in the serial number, the piano was made before 1900.
According to the serial number provided, it was built in 1942. According to bluebookofpianos dot com, it was built in 1995.

Marshall and Wendall started 1934 with serial 118000 and ended it in 1935 with 120900. Your serial number of 118224 would then have most likely been for a unit made sometime early in 1934.
Between 1910 (S/N started 28000) and 1929 (1930 S/N started 98000).
