In this period there was the end of what historians have called the Pax Romana, which was a period of relative political stability in the Roman Empire which followed the creation of rule by emperors by Augustus. After the death of Marcus Aurelius his son Commodus became the emperor. He was the worse one the Romans ever had. He was unjust and cruel. He was murdered in 192. This was followed by what historians called The Year of the Five Emperors (193) which started a period of conflict. The successor of Commodus, Pertinax, was also assassinated. The imperial title was bought by Didus Julianus. Septimius Severus deposed Pertinax. Two other men, besides Severus, claimed the imperial title, Pescennius Niger, Clodius Albinus. Septimius Severus fought civil wars against Pescennius Niger and Clodius Albinus and emerged victorious. These civil wars continued until 197.
The Arikok National Park is home to two bird species indigenous to Aruba.Specifically, the Arikok National Park is a beautiful nature preserve that takes up just under one-fifth (1/5) of Aruba's total area. It is home to the Aruba burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia arubensis) and the Aruba parakeet (Aratinga pertinax arubensis). Locals give the name of shoco to the owl and of prikichi to the parakeet.
There was not a region of the five emperors. There was what historians have called the Year of the Five Emperors. After the emperor Commodus was assassinated, five men fought for the title on emperor and four of them were deposed. The five men were Pertinax, Didius Julianus, Pescennius Niger, Clodius Albinus and Septimius Severus. Septimius Severus was the man who managed to hold on to power and founded the Severan dynasty which lasted from 193 to 235 and had five emperors. Since all this happened within a year, it did not affect the prosperity of the empire.
