Best Answer

A 22 inch Rainbow Trout should be around 10 years of age depending on it's life conditions.

This trout can live up to 11 years and at that lenght it should weight around 4-5 pounds.

This is a strong wild fish with a very good taste so it's very popular for sports fishing. Sadly this combined with natural causes result in their population decreasing.

It's found in all continents but Antarctica.

Depends on where it was caught..In northern states, a 22 inch fish can be around six years old. In the south, a 22 inch fish will be around four years old..Fish normally grow faster in warmer water.

Is a Golden Rainbow Trout an albino?

No, it is not an albino. An albino by definition is a "an animal or plant with a marked deficiency in pigmentation". The fact that these trout have pigment means they are not ablino. What they actually are called is "Palomino Rainbow Trout". The Golden Rainbow Trout originated from a single Rainbow Trout that was spawned in the fall of 1954 in West Virginia. This trout's body color was a chimera of golden and normally pigmented tissue. When this fish was crossed with a normally pigmented Rainbow Trout, the offspring (what we have come to refer to as Palomino Rainbow Trout) were lighter in color.I caught one this past Saturday here in Oklahoma.

Is golden trout the same as rainbow trout?
