Not too old judging by that serial number. It is a more recent purchase.

I am going to assume that you have a savage model 29 pump action .22cal rifle. These were made with a octagon barrel up to 1940.these 22 cal rifles range in price from 220-350 dollars depending on condition.

About $400-$450, dependng on condition. Octagonal barrel indicates made before WW II, changed to round barrel after the war.

I am looking to restore one that I have. Are you willing to sell yours?

Need a DETAILED description of ALL markings, barrel length, type of action.

Please include the model number to get the correct answer to your question.

ANSWER :101.538840Savage34,65if you have the same numbers as above on your barrel then yes yours is savage. if not check for your number on this site.http://www.gun-data.com/sears_roebuck_guns.html

Pull down on the front of the foreend. It snaps right off. Open the action, and the barrel lifts back and up off the hinge in the receiver.

The caliber marking on the barrel will prove that your Savage model 99 is chambered in 30-30 Win.The model 99 markings on the receiver/barrel will also indicate that you have a model 99 savage. Some 30-30 Win.chambered rifles by savage will be marked model of 1899,which indicates that you have the early model of Savage lever action rifle, made from 1899-1909.

If barrel is round, it is a post-WWII Model 29. If the barrel is octagonal, and the grip is checkered, it is probably a pre-WWII Model 29. If the barrel is octagonal and the stock is plain, it is likely a Model 25. That's as close as I can get sight unseen.

Octagonal barrel could be a plethora of different guns anywhere from a rolling block to a pump. Need to identify what it is first and condition, condition, condition for values.

It is a slide action rifle with an octagonal barrel made from 1890 to 1932. If it is marked as Model 90, not Model 1890, it was made after about 1915.

Yes there is a Savage Model 72. It is a .22 LR single shot with an octagon barrel. It has a Falling or Rolling block action. They were made around the early to mid 70's.

Value of a 1980 Winchester rifle 22 short octagonal barrel?

Need to know who made it, how long the barrel is, exactly what 22 caliber it is (short, long, long rifle, etc.) and overall condition before being able to help with an answer.
