Too many numbers in that serial number! A model 92 with a serial number in the 98xxx range would be dating to 1894, but they never made any in the 98xxxx range. Maybe you accidentally added an extra digit?

A 75 hp Mercury outboard, serial number OB9655687, I can not find on the serial number chart. One thing I see, is a seven digit serial number, with a OB prefix. The seven digit serial numbers, ( prior to 1985 ), had no prefix. Serial numbers with the prefix, ( OA,OB,OC, ect. ), have six digit serial numbers. Could there be an error in the serial number posted?

A serial number and a PAC number are not the same. A PAC number is used for banking and is always a six digit code.
I get an "invalid serial number" when I use the F and again if I use any five digit number starting with 33. F33001, 33001 or 33999. You might check it again just to be sure. Here is the site I used: http://www.savage99.com/marlin336_dates.htm

That is not a Browning serial number. The 1958-1968 Browning dating system was of the format: <last digit of year of manufacture><letter indicating grade><serial number> An example would be 8L12345. 8 = year (duplicated between 1958 and 1968) L = Safari grade 12345 = serial number John
