Instead of the sn, look for when it was proof tested. The majority of German made SIG models have the symbols located on the underside of the slide just forward of the front of the frame. You will normally find three proof marks. 1. An ornamental crown with an N beneath it indicating proof with smokeless (nitrocellulose) powder. The second looks like a "squished 8-legged 2-pincered bug". This is the proof mark for the Kiel, Germany proofhouse. The third is two letters that tell you when it was proof tested.
