With out a serial number to go with the model number,I can only say that the Marlin model 1889 was made from 1889-1899,with a total production of 55,000 rifles made during that time span.
1889
Its probably a model 1894 & should be marked as such on the upper tang. Prior to the model 1894 Marlin made a Model 1889 in the same calibres that was not marked. But, a 1889 should only have 2 patent dates, 1887 & 1889 I believe. It is possible you have a model 1889 with a model 1894 barrel on it.
I know it was available in these calibers 44.40 38.40 32.20 .25 I have a Marlin Saftey 38.55 Model 1889 Octagonal (95154)
If I understand your question correctly, you have a Marlin lever action rifle chambered in 38WCF(38-40).If that is the case, then you have a Marlin model 1889 rifle, that was made in the year 1892.
50-150 USD
That would be a model 1889, Marlin serials are "different" I believe it was made in 1893, but I'm not a Marlin expert...
That would be a model 1889.
I'm assuming you have a Marlin model 1889, not 1887, as they never made a model 1887. The 1889 does have a patent date of 1887 on the barrel, so this is a common mistake. Any Marlin marked ".32W" on the barrel will normally be chambered for the .32-20 Win. cartridge.
Your marlin model 1893 was made by marlin in 1904.
You do not state what model of marlin you have?I can say that if you have a model 1881,1888,1891,1892,1893,1894,or 1897 marlin with the serial number you provided it was made in the year 1900.
Your marlin model 39A was made by the marlin firearms company in 1952.
your marlin model 1893 was made in 1897.
