A child should be excited but have managed and reasonable expectations for how long it'll take to complete the model car and how difficult it will be. If the child does not then he or she will get bored easily and frustrated.
A child can be introduced to just about anything at any age. If you want your child to take a liking to model planes then introduce them to it at a very young age. Show them what it is and explain it to them. When they are about 8 or 9 they should know the idea of being careful and patient and highly capable of building planes on their own. But they can start building models at 5 or 6.

If a parent wants their child to try modeling, then they'll need to contact a modeling agency to get started. They'll then need to get head shots for their children and start looking for an agency to pick that child up.

2 or 3 yrs old but take it step by step if you do start to train your child and try to explain what your doing to your child.
Clay would work well to do this. With clay, you can make very detailed objects, so this might actually get an A.
start with a red ryder. teach the child how to handle it along with the responsibility's that goes along with a BB gun.
