I think it really does not mater what age they are as long as they think they can do it. A young person should get a foal because it would be a learning experience for both the person and the foal.
6 months old
A mare should be 3-4 to have a foal.
NO! No foal should ever be used for adult horse type work. Let the foal grow up first, it can start training at 2 years old if you're in a hurry. But typically draft breeds require a longer period of time to mature fully.
Foals will begin nibbling at hay or grass soon relatively soon in life. Some will begin nibbling at or even eating it at a month old, some even sooner than this. By three months old the foal should be receiving foal specific feeds and quality hay along with it's mothers milk.
As soon as it is born. Also you will receive a notification on the left hand side menu if you are not given the option to vacinate & deworm the foal immeditatly after it is born. Obviously you have to have some in stock first. Hope that helps.
plenty of mares get pregnant that young. the foal should be fine and so should your mare
You should not under any circumstances get on a foal or especially jump on a foal. A horse should not have the weight of a human on it's back until it is at a minimum of 3 years old, and hard work should not begin until it is 4 years old, this includes jumping. Getting on a horses back before it is three years old will result in damage to the horses body and cause it to break down earlier in life than if it were started properly at 3 or 4 years old.
Generally old enough to pay for it.
Although it can be given it does not contain the right nutrients for the foal and the foal will not do well on it at all.Goats milk would be a better alternative and foal milk replacer would be best. You can also hire a nurse mare if you can afford it.
Its head should come up to about the middle of your mares stomach at a couple days old.
First it goes foal then yearling then 2 year old then adult then mature adult. There you have it!
A foal is a baby horse between 0yrs and 1yr old.
