He died, leaving Catherine Parr his widow (1547)
Catherine Parr Traill (1802 - 1899) was a British-Canadian author, and nothing to do with Catherine Parr (c1512 - 1548) the sixth and last wife of Henry VIII (1491 - 1547).
Catherine Parr was born in 1512 and died on 5 September 1548. She was the last of six wives of King Henry VIII of England. She was queen from 1543 to 1547.
Catherine Parr and King Henry VIII were married on 12 July 1543. The queen consort would have been about 21, and the King would have been 52. Parr was the King's final wife and their marriage ended with his death on 28 July 1547.
