People found a woman who will this week celebrate her 130th birthday, making her 16 years older than the oldest known human currently living.

Sakhan Dosova - a mother of ten - says she has never visited a doctor nor eaten sweets. She is addicted to cottage cheese and puts her longevity down to her sense of humour.

Her remarkable age came to light during a census in Karaganda in northern Kazakhstan. Demographers were astonished to find that she was also on Stalin's first census of the region in 1926 when her age was given as 47.
she is 147 years old and died in 2009

Around the globe, census taking is an important to help determine the need to improve infrastructure and services to countries with growing populations. In one census conducted in Indonesia, however, census takers may have quite possibly discovered, the oldest woman in the world.

Sill alive and kicking for over 157 years, a South Sumatran villager known only as Turinah claims to have been born in 1853 - the same year the Crimean War started as well as the year when Russell Hawes the envelope-folding machine. What is even more incredible about Turinah, is that the woman is still active around all this time, can see and hear just fine, and has smoked clove cigarettes for years.

Unfortunately Turinah destroyed all her identification several decades ago to keep her from being connected to a communist coup in Indonesia back in 1965, so her claim cannot be immediately verified. If her age does indeed turn out to be true, though, she will have smashed the record of the oldest person to have ever lived, which was a French woman by the name of Jeanne Calment who passed away in 1997 at the age of 122.
