The builders of the Transcontinental Railroad ranged in age from the late 10's to their early 40's or 50's
I have been researching this topic and in the childrens book, "Life in the Old West- The Railroad" it said that the Germans were involved in building the track.
it was a group that created the transcontinental railroad. one group was central pacific and the other one is called union pacific they had to go to different places to be able to make the railroadNo one.By the time they built it, it was old technology (40 to 60 years old),it was just a kind of sales pitch (to make money).
The main characters in the story "The Great Railroad Race" are the two competing railroad companies: the Central Pacific Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad. Their efforts to build a transcontinental railroad across the United States in the 1860s are central to the narrative.
The building was a three-story brick structure at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Atlantic Street. The building was demolished in 1924.

the railroads brought with them people which caused settlements to spring up along the way. the most important aspect is that it allowed the west to open up, meaning trade could occur faster and more efficiently. cattle could be shipped as well as people for transportation, but primarily agricultural goods. railroad provided infrastructure to the west imagine Houston without highways!
It is 88 years old !
HOW OLD DO HAVE BE TO GET A WORKERS PERMIT IN ARKANSAS
Thomas C. Durant, the prominent American financier and railroad executive, died on December 2, 1885. His death was attributed to pneumonia, a common ailment at the time that can be particularly severe in older individuals. Durant's health had been declining for some time prior to his passing, and he was 67 years old when he died. His legacy remains intertwined with the development of the First Transcontinental Railroad.
Started 1915
If there was an old building that was demolished and a new building was built where the old building was then the new building "stands on the site" of the old building.
