What kind of computer technician? Network? Information Technology? Web Master? Engineering Technician? All of the above requires a different degree, but taking Computer Science is something that can be used in all of these career fields. I would advice looking online at different jobs at http://www.collegeboard.com. You can look up the job description, the colleges that offer the degree and how long it will take to get the job done, sometimes it even lists what courses you will need. From their you can look up more information on other sites to see how much money they offer. I would suggest going to a college career cousilor. They can point you in a direction that will help you the most and it is their job to find the information for you.
Data recovery is needed when you, as a layperson, cannot access information you have on a computer. You would take the computer into a technician, and they would work to see if the data could be recovered. The technician would start at the lowest levels, assessing for any physical damage, and then work up to see if recovery is possible.
A computer technician must have the A plus certification before they can work on computers and actually get paid. Many people who contract computer technicians will need to see the certification before they can actually trust them to work on their computers. People have become really dependent on the computers. They would not want anyone who is not qualified by the a plus certification, touch their computers. As much as there are probably damaged or in need of urgent upgrading, that does not mean that anyone who claims to be a computer technician can touch their computers. All the computer technicians who do the following have been certified to the letter.
