5/7/2009. Guinea pigs by nature are "programmed" to disguise illness until it becomes life-threatening. This is because in the wild predators pick out the weakest looking animals from the herd. If a guinea pig is sick please get to to a Vet ASAP. I cannot emphasize how important it is for you to see medical treatment. Guinea pigs are very susceptible to repiratory conditions that worsen quickly. ALSO, PLEASE MAKE SURE THE VET SPECIALIZES IN EXOTICS. I made the mistake of going to a general vet once who prescribed antibiotics that disrupted my guinea pigs delicate digestive tract and wound up killing him. Exotic vets are experts in their field and will know exactly what you need to do to get your piggie better. This website provides EXCELLENT information on guinea pig care and dangerous medications: http://www.guinealynx.info/dangerous_medications.html

it depends! if the mouse had rabies or a bad sickness then the guinea pig coud POSSIBLE die. but not very likely.
not necessarily; if you leave one guinea pig in the cage with the sick guinea pig, the guinea pig that is not sick can get sick; you should separate them just to be safe but if the guinea pigs start to get lonely, put them back together
