well oritse mum has multiple sclerosis and he loved to sing so he thought he will make a band to try and help his mum and now they are successful so oritse auditioned people then he got a phone call from Marvin who had been recommend by someone as he was in a band before hand called vs but it never worked out so Marvin know Aston so then he auditioned so they eventually found jb after a load other auditions and thats how they met

Marvin was in a band called VS, who were put together by former Blue band member Simon Webbe, VS had 3 top UK singles. Oritse had previously been in other boybands. Aston won a Stars In Their Eyes competion, and was also in west end.

jls were a band put together by oritse williams (one of the members) back in 2006 orginally called UFO...they all were passionate about singing and wanted to make it big. in 2007 they won best unsigned act at the urban music awards, then jb's auntie suggested that they apply for the x factor and here we are now :)

well it all started when band member ortise adversed to form a band he then auditioned Marvin who reccomended Aston he then later found jb and marvins ex girl friend came up with the name jls ( jack the lad swing) after Simon cowell told jls that their first initial name UFO was already taken they came back with the name jls but the real reason ortise put the band together was to raise money for his mum who was suffering from various illnesses .
