Catalysts are never consumed in the reaction. that's what makes them catalyst! not a reactant. they increase the rate of reaction by lowering the activation energy for the reaction. One of the ways to do this by providing an alternative route for the reaction to follow.

Substance that speeds up the rate of chemical reaction?

Substances that speed up the rate of reaction are called catalysts. Catalysts participate in chemical reaction but does not get consumed. Yeast is an example of biological catalyst.

Lower a chemical reactions activation energy?

A catalyst lowers the activation energy without being consumed during a reaction

What is the truth about catalysts?

Catalysts help chemical reactions: the activation energy is lowered, the reaction rate is accelerated. Catalysts are not exhausted in the reaction and are recyclable.

Is saliva a catalyst?

No; a catalyst is used to speed up a reaction, and catalysts should remain in their initial states at the end of a reaction. Catalysts include: Fe Ni H2SO4 H3PO4 ** a system may act as a catalyst for altering water by definition the G7 water catalyst is such.

How do catalysts affect the reaction s in living things?

A catalysts speeds up the reaction in living things.

What are facts about catalysts?

Some of the facts are: 1. Catalysts never get consumed in a reaction 2. Catalysts lower the activation energy of the reaction by providing an alternative path to it. 3. Some catalysts do not take part in reaction. They just provide surface or sites for the reaction to take place.

Is an enzyme consumed in a reaction?

No. There is no type of a catalyst that is consumed in a reaction.

What is a cellular catalysts?

A substance that will increase the rate of a chemical reaction without becoming part of the products or being consumed in the reaction.

What are catylistas?

Do you mean Catalysts? If you do, then its any substance that increases the rate of a reaction without itself being consumed.

How do you determine amount of enzyme consumed in a reaction?

There is no catalyst that is consumed in reaction which it is catalysing. In other reactions, eg. breakdown reactions, they do not catalyse their own breakdown! Enzymes are (bio)catalysts mainly as special protein molecules. In the reactions that ARE catalized they are not consumed, otherwise they were not 'catalists' but 'reactants'.

Lower a chemical reactions activation energy?

A catalyst lowers the activation energy without being consumed during a reaction

What does catalysts and rate of reaction do?

Catalysts either accelerate or reduce the rate of the reaction.

What effects does catalysts have to rate of reaction?

In the presence of catalysts the rate of reaction is higher.

What substance changes the rate of a chemical reaction without changing itself?

A catalyst is a material that promotes a chemical reaction by its mere presence. It isn't changed or consumed in the process. Wikipedia has more information, and a link is provided.
