The formation process itself, which could involve plate subduction, divergent plate boundaries, and hot spots, are usually measured in the many millions of years. The cooling and solidification of an intrusive igneous rock as part of a plutonic intrusion is in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years, although solidification of parts of the intrusion at the boundary with the contacted host rock could be fairly quick, maybe thousands of years or less.
