While people think that reptiles and amphibians are very similar, they are not. They did evolve from the first vertebrate, but that is their closest relation. Amphibians' origin started with the first vertebrate to step on land from the water. Reptiles, on the other hand, evolved much later, and frogs and dinosaurs were around at the same time, if that gives you an idea of how far back it was. But many differences are obvious- skin, eggs, mating habits, and anatomy.

They are both reptiles
There is alot of reasons they are alike like some obvious ones. They are both reptiles, they eat, they drink, and they are predators and pre.
All reptiles are diapsids. Mammals (like you and I) are, in contrast, synapsids. So in that respect all reptiles are alike. However, I would not say they were all alike. Snakes are reptiles but lack limbs. Alligators are also reptiles, as are lizards. Tuatara, gavials, amphisbaenids, and tortoises each represent one of the four main modern orders of reptiles. They share some characteristics--just as you and I do, but I would not say they were all alike.
Becase the word 'Dinosaur' means terrible lizard.
