Take it to a shop, they will know what to do.
many service lights on the new 3 series you cannot reset yourself, this is a software error by BMW and they are aware of this but currently no fix is available, the only way to reset it is to have a BMW technician reset it with their special service equipment.
any shop or dealer should be able to reset it, they have to plug into your car just under and to the left of your steering wheel, using a handheld to pull and clear any codes. hope this helps. or try this : 1. Turn Ignition key to position1 2. Press and hold reset button for the trip meter 3.Switch ignition ON 4. Keep Depressed for 10 secs. Service indicator will flash. Release reset button within 5 secs. There will be an audible signal when reset completes & service indicator goes out. * if reset button is not released within 5 secs , the service interval indicator will not be reset but will stop flashing. Good Luck!
Hold in the wrench button on instrument cluster, and at the same time turn your key forward (without starting). While still holding the "wrench" button in, press the "0,0" button and hold until the "SERVICE!" notification clears (about 2-3 seconds). "Service!" Indicator Reset Procedure/Service Indicator Reset Complete!
I changed the oil on my 2003 93 early and was able to reset the oil life indicator by changing the date on the SID to a date beyond the 'days to service'. An option to reset service data then appears . When done simply return date to the correct setting. (to change date press and hold the info select button when date is displayed).
Get into your BMW and close the door. Fasten your seat belt. Press and hold down the odometer reset button. While holding this, turn key into accessory position. Soon, reset is displayed on dash. Release Odometer reset button. Press Odometer reset once more for 3 seconds, then release. All green LED for oil change are now restored.
You need what is called a "Service indicator reset dongle" it is a very small computer that does all the programming for you. Your local Land Rover Dealer will have one and I'm sure they will be happy to help you, normally without charging you too.

YOU HAVE TO GET DEALER OR SERVICE (MOT GUY) TO RESET OR BUY A GIZMO FROM THE USA ABOUT 80 WHICH WILL RESET ALL B,MS (SO YOU COULD MAKE YOUR MONEY BACK? This is not true for bmw's of this era all you need is some wire (like a coat hanger) and a bit of internet research to simulate the "gizmo" unfortunately I've lost the link from when i did it shortly after purchasing mine. Look for the forums specific to this era of 3 series.
From the owners manual page 326. 1. turn the ignition switch to the OB (II) position. 2. Press the SELECT/RESET knob until the engine oil life indicator is displayed. 3. Press the SELECT/RESET knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil indicator and the maintenance items code(s) will blink. 4. Press the SELECT/RESET knob for more than 5 seconds. The maintenance items code(s) will dissappear, and the engine oil like indicator will reset to "100."
Usally U turn the key on without starting & pump the gas pedal 3 times with in 30 seconds. ??? I'm not sure about that answer. I usually press the button on the overhead computer where the service interval required shows zero, then hold the RESET button until it goes back to 3,000.
