L. Ron Hubbard had many interests in finding out what LIFE was. He wanted to also know what the mind, body and the spirit were. He experienced all of the basics in life by exploring all over the globe and also visiting different religions to find out what their practices and major beliefs were. He wanted to find out WAY more so he explored and then had enough information and his philosophy was founded. He founded Scientology in 1952, with 50,000 years of working men's data. He also founded Dianetics (the sub-study of Scientology) in 1950. Scientology's first Church of Scientology opened in Los Angeles, California by L. Ron Hubbard in December 1954.
