If you have a low self image, then you tend to feel that you deserve all the crap that's handed to you. In order to change one's self image, it is necessary to take some positive steps.

For example, never voice a negative thought about yourself. Also, it is important to voice only positive, self affirming thoughts about yourself.

In dire cases, you may have to smack somebody to remind them that you're no longer a doormat.
