Shock absorbers do not actually absord shock. Instead, they work through the process of transference. When the car bounces, the spring transfers the energy created to a piston in a chamber that is filled with oil. The oil causes the energy to dissapate into heat.
I need to replace the shocks absorber for my VW Jetta 2001.
When the shocks are in the car? Your vehicle feels like it weaves or sort of floats! Even when your steering wheel is dead straight. Other symptoms are noises from bearings etc as a result of your shocks dying and not working properly. Something I've noticed is that the car bottoms out in the front since the shocks are not absorbing the impact properly.
The rear shocks take a 21mm wrench...
Never heard a shock absorber squeak. Be sure it is mounted correctly.
Coilover shocks are a type of suspension system that combines a coil spring and shock absorber into one unit. They are adjustable, allowing for modifications to the vehicle's ride height and damping characteristics. Coilover shocks are popular in racing and performance applications due to their versatility and ability to improve handling.

To install a shock absorber for a Whirlpool Duet washer, start by unplugging the washer and locating the shocks at the front and rear of the washer. Remove the screws securing the shock absorber in place, then swap out the old shock absorber with the new one. Secure the new shock absorber with the screws and plug the washer back in. Run a test cycle to ensure proper installation.
front struts go behind the wheels and in the front and rear shocks go in the back
Generally, they don't make a sound. When you go over a bump, and your car keeps going "bounce, bounce, bounce" several times before it settles down, your shocks are shot. The shock absorber's job is to damp the car's springs - the springs are the real "shock absorbers". The actual shock absorber is supposed to stop the spring after the first "bounce".
