Lion cubs are pretty small when they are born. They weigh between 1 to 2 kilograms at birth. They are born with their eyes closed and their eyes don't open until a week. For the first few months, they are entirely dependent on their mother for milk and protection. Later, the whole pride takes care of all the cubs in the pride.
