The Orangutan is an ape, not a monkey. The Chimpanzee & Bonobo are considered the most intelligent of the Great Apes. The Bonobo is the closest relative to man.

No. Although very intelligent in their own right, the orangutan's brain is much smaller than ours. They are as intelligent as they need to be within the context of the environment in which they live.

It's very, very hard to make comparisons like this. Both are fairly clever, and variation in individuals is probably greater than the difference between the average for both species (in other words, there's probably more difference between a "smart" gorilla and a "dumb" gorilla than between an average gorilla and an average orangutan).

The reason it's hard to make comparisons is because we don't really know how to define or measure "smartness" ... even in humans fine distinctions are problematic, and with animals it's really muddy.
