Not as soon as you want. Knee replacement surgery is a serious medical procedure. After the surgery you will usually get a therapy to get use of your new knee replacement. This will take several months up to a year.

How successful is the arthroscopic lateral release surgery for knee dislocation?

Hey well i had an arthroscopic lateral release on July 12 of this past year. It was pretty successfull and cant really say that it was a mirical but then again i gues that is kind of my fault. Im a competitive cheerleader and put a lot of pressure on it and i went back soon after my surgery. Before i began cheering again the surgery had been the best thing i ever did. needless to the say the surgery did help out A LOT. im not in near as much pain now than it was about a year ago. I hope your surgery is successful. mine definatley was. Just don't get back into the physical stuff TOO soon. :)

How long after partial knee replacement can you drive?

It depends on your surgeon. Usually it depends also on which leg was done. Takes longer before you can drive if your right knee was done, usually 6 weeks post surgery. With left leg 4 weeks post surgery.More Information: I will be getting a "total knee" replacement soon and my doctor said I would not be driving for at least 4 weeks. I have been told I would be using a walker for 3-4 weeks and a walking cane for 1-2 weeks more. Hope this info helps with your decision.I would comply with the doctor's instructons. The rehabilitation varies from patient to patient so your doctor would know best the time that driving is advised for each patient.

Dealing With Knee Pain?

Knee pain can be caused from a variety of reasons. It is also found in all ages of people. Younger children can have pain in the knee from sports related injuries while older individuals can have pain in their knees due to getting older and having arthritis. There are ways that you can help relieve the pain that is felt in the knee. The easiest way to relive knee pain is to take medications that help with the symptoms. Sports injuries often require surgery in order for them to be healed properly. A torn tendon in the knee or a sprain is the most common injuries that children can receive. As soon as an injury occurs, it is important to get ice on the knee to keep the swelling down. The knee should not be moved until a doctor can be seen. The doctor would examine the knee in order to find out where the knee is injured and then proceed with the correct treatment. If surgery is done, the knee will either be wrapped in a bandage so it is not moved for a determined length of time, or it will be placed in a cast until it is time to move the knee again. It is vital to the person who has injured their knee to do all of the exercises they have been instructed to do. They should not over exert the knee as this may cause more injuries.Older individuals have knee pains for different reasons. As people age, their joints begin to deteriorate. They also have arthritis in their joints. Special medicated ointments can be used on the knees to relieve the pain associated with these conditions. If the joint becomes very bad, a knee replacement ay is needed in order for the person to get relief. Some people who have knee injuries may not be able to walk as well as they did before the knee replacement. Physical therapy is important after a replacement.

Can you live without a knee cap?

Yes you can break your kneecap. If you did, it is very important to go to the hospital. if you wait too long, they might not be able to fix it with surgery. if you go now, you will probably have to have surgery, but its better than not having a knee. :)
