great danes are very tall they could be about 3 and a half to 4 feet tall. On average the normal sized female is 125 lbs. And males 150. But alot get bigger. I have a friend that has two great danes. Toby is 205 lbs. and a 36.5 inches at his back. And she has a female that is an oddball, her back is 38 inches and is like 150-160. so they are very big and tall dogs. if you buy the right ones. Some only get to 100 pounds as a female. most males are over 110 pounds.- Ethan Rogersnewtest3Height/weight wise:Male: 33-36 inches, 135-170 lbsFemale: 30-34 inches, 110-145 lbsThe average dane is about 3 feet at the withers. Yes, because on average, the Irish Wolfhound is taller than the Great Dane with male Irish Wolfhounds typically averaging around 32-34 inches tall and Male Great Danes averaging probably around 30-32 inches tall. Meaning if you go find an ordinary Irish Wolfhound, and then go find an ordinary Great Dane, most likely the Irish Wolfhound will be taller. Although, Great Danes tend to greatly exceed their average height while Irish Wolfhounds do not, with basically all of the tallest dog in the world contenders being Great Danes, the tallest the dog in the world being a 44 inch tall Great Dane named "Zeus" recognized by the Guinness World Records after the death of a 43 inch tall dog nicknamed "Giant George", who was also a Great Dane.
