Ear phones work by connecting two pieces together. It consists of two pieces connecting, a coil of wire and a magnet. Essentially, the magnet vibrates with the sound and it creates the sound to be transferred through the wires, into the earphone speakers and into your ears.

Modernly people use Bluetooth headsets, your phone must be able connect to Bluetooth devises so look under the wireless connection and look for Bluetooth. But first you must turn on the the headset. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and look for your headset devise click on it and it should connect within a few seconds. Now when you make a call or receive a call you should be able to talk through the Bluetooth headset with no problem. I would use a PS3 headset although it is made for the PS3 it works great for phones. hope i helped.
