They work the same way older pianos work. They use a series of wires that are hit with tiny "hammers" causing the wire to vibrate, producing sound. Keyboards are different, in which, they use electricity and recorded tones. :)

The word piano, by definition in Italian, means soft. The modern piano is actually called the pianoforte, meaning loud-soft in Italian. This is due to the wide range of volume which the modern piano can express.Beethoven helped develop the modern piano to what it is today, for the piano's in his time (just called a piano, for they only had a soft range of sound) were not able to express the emotional variety required of his time (the romantic period).
All of Chopin's works included the piano he did this because he was a pianist and a piano teacher
The piano sound comes from little hammers that hit the keys upward. If you have a Grand Piano you can see how it works.
There are no Chopin's works originally written for horn and piano. There are some transcriptions as well as pieces using an horn in orchestral part (piano concertos and other works with orchestra).
Pianos have 88 keys. this may vary depending on the use of the piano. for example: -a midi piano (for composing on you computer) often only has 32 to 16 keys
