Peristalsis. Food is actively moved (down) to the stomach.
The involuntary motion that moves food through the alimentary canal is called peristalsis and is a wavelike contraction and relaxation of the intestinal wall smooth muscles. It pushes food along the intestine.

To my knowledge no 'tribe' moved to Spain. There were many decedents of settlers who moved back to Europe, and were of mixed native blood but no actual "Tribe" moved.
