No model year given so can't get specific. Here is the general Jeep Patriot tail light bulb lamp replacement procedure: Purchase the correct replacement tail light bulb(s) first, before disassembling the vehicle. See sources and related links below for replacement bulb information and full light bulb part numbers list. Then consult your owner's manual for the tail light bulb lamp replacement procedure. As simple as it sounds, the owner's manual is the best place to start for bulb replacement instructions and illustrations. You may want to consider replacing both left and right at the same time in order to keep brightness and color equal (optional).

1. Open Trunk.

2. Using a flat head screwdriver or a panel popper, Pop off the two black plastic clips holding the tail light in they break easy so be careful or buy 4 new ones for like $5 at the dealership.

3. pull the clips out. now pull out the taillight assembly

4. twist out the bulb that is bad, pull the bulb out of the bulb holder, put new bulb in

5. pop the rear clips of the tail lamp in place

6. replace the two push pins we used a screwdriver to take out earlier.
