∙ 9y agoStraighten the steering wheel and tires. Pop the hood and disconnect the battery. Pull the horn pad off and disconnect it. Unscrew the bolt and washer from the center of the column assembly, then removeÊthe steering wheel. Remove the three screws that hold the last piece of the stalk to the assembly. Unscrew the stalk and remove the plastic cover from the column. ÊRemove the bolt from the bottom of the dashboard and slide out the ignition switch. Unplug the wires from the back of the old ignition switch and replace it with the new one. Follow the steps backwards to put the column and wheel back together.

∙ 12y agoRemove all pieces around key on the steering column. Then use a chisel to tap the head of the two pins which are actually screws, with a chisel and hammer. Doesn't take much to turn them and then unscrew with fingers.

∙ 13y agoOn all Geos it is the same. Remove all the wires, pumps, and any affixed items and unplug them. Drain it of most fluids so you dont make too much of a mess. There should be 2 mounting bolts, one on each side of the Geos engine. Unbolt these. On some Geos there will be a third somewhere but most dont have that. Remove your motor and ta da! I fix Geos A LOT so if you need anymore help just ask me.

∙ 12y agoput the key in the ignition and turn the key to the acc mode and then press the button on the bottom of the ignition and pull on the key out toward you it should slide out. and to then opposite to put the new one in.

You will need to remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1997 Chevy Camaro ignition switch. The ignition switch will slide out. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.

In order to replace the ignition switch in a 1997 Honda CR-V, you must first unplug the ignition switch power source. Unscrew the cover panel, remove the bolts holding the switch, and pull the switch out of the column. Replace the old ignition switch with the new ignition switch, return the bolts and screws, and reconnect the power source.
