Is it better to airate or dethatch cenipede?

For centipede grass, dethatching is generally more beneficial than aerating, especially if thatch buildup is significant. Dethatching removes the layer of dead grass and organic matter that can hinder water and nutrient absorption. Aeration may be useful in compacted soils, but centipede grass typically prefers well-drained soil and does not usually require frequent aeration. Regular dethatching can help maintain a healthy lawn by promoting better growth and reducing disease.

I purchased a 12x30 vinyl pool from walmart The pool was clean I covered it and went of vacationNow I have dark green water. Nothing is sticking on the sides What do I do?

SHOCK IT,ADD ALGAECIDE AFTER IT HAS A BALANCE OF 5 CHLORINE LEVEL,....CLEAN THE FILTER REPEATEDLY DAILY,...BRUSH YOUR POOL TWICE A DAY,....CHECK REGULARLY WITH A TEST KIT,....KEEP SWIMMING TO GET YOUR CHEMICALS TO AIRATE AND WORK.....YOU HAVE TO KEEP UP WITH ANY POOL BUT IT SURE IS WORTH IT,HAVE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS POOLS TAKE CARE OF IT WHILE ON VACATION AND LET PEOPLE SWIM IN IT WHILE YOUR GONE TOO,THAT STIRS THINGS UP FOR THE FILTER...G-LUCK! If you want to hurry the process just cast some flocculant onto the surface of the water this will force the algae to the bottom after a couple of days then vacuum the bottom layer of the water to waste. Your pool shop should be able to give you advice on this.RB

How do you transport your pet fish?

For starters, aquarium fish should not be transported for any reason other than when you bring them home from the store, or you are moving. You can't bring them around with you like a fuzzy mammal pet. If you do need to transport your fish for some reason, then the best way to do that is to start off by fasting the fish. Fasting means not feeding them. Fast your fish for 3-5 days before transporting them, so that they will not foul the water that they are being moved in. Then get a 5 gallon pail, and fill it with about 2 gallons of water. Put your fish in there, and if you have a battery powered air pump, then use it to agitate and airate the water. Transport your fish to the new location,n as quickly as you can, making sure not to let the water in the bucket get too hot or too cold. Whe you arrive at your destination, put them in an established aquarium at the new location.

What causes raw potatoes to turn black?

First, make sure this isn't happening because the potatoes have gone bad or that there is mold. Once that is ruled out, it is most likely just because of air exposure. Think, apples turn brown when left out in the air too long. This can happen to any fruit or vegetable as it is left without moisture or left to airate for a while. The potatoe is still edible, as it is just the outermost layer that has been exposed.

What is wrong if after flushing the toilet the water supply to the toilet spits out air only but if you turn off the water valve for a couple minutes then water fills the tank?

poor water pressure, blocked shut off valve, It may be that you have air suspend in your water. It is common for water treatment plants to airate the water to remove things or to oxidize things like iron so that it can be removed. Also, cavition from a pump or turbulence in a water line can create air in water. One thing you can look for is to fill a clear glass with water and look for a white look to it and for it to clear up after a short time. Use a spigot that does not have an airator on it. You could put in an air relief value in a high spot or at the top of a short T before the problem area to bleed off the air. Some times an air relief value will also bleed off some water with the air, so you may need to put in an area that will drain or not do any damage. Waterman
