There are many claims by manufacturers of CD's that they can last up to 40+ years. The life cycle of the CD will ultimately come down to how a individual takes care of the disc over the years. I wouldn't trust the manufacturers numbers, I would always make sure you have plenty of backups of a CD, especially if it has important data on it.
To free a stuck CD in a 2004 Renault Clio, first try turning on the ignition and pressing the eject button multiple times.
