just checked my ranger repair manual, this repair has some procedures that have to followed, would recommend purchasing the Haynes repair manual for that model year it covers both 4&6 cylinder engines
change it
how do i take the fan cluch off a 89 ford ranger yo replace
you have to have fan clutch wrenches
do you have to remove fan shroud to access thermostat housing on a 1997 2.3L ford ranger
Hi their should be a diagrahm on or around the fan shroud
No
You can gain access to the "blower motor" from the passenger side firewall under the hood. The fan unit itself should be mounted to that motor.
To change the fan clutch assembly on a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT with a 3.0L V6, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the fan shroud and the fan by loosening the nuts securing it to the water pump. Then, unbolt the old fan clutch from the fan and water pump, and install the new fan clutch by reversing the steps. Finally, reattach the fan shroud, reconnect the battery, and run the engine to check for proper operation.
counter clock wise will remove the fan
Up against the firewall on the passenger side
There is no radiator fan fuse. It is controlled by a relay in the CCRM.
It is likely the duct work how ever it can be the fan has come off the fan motor
