If you are using Office 2003 or 2007 you will need an add-in - "save as PDF/XPS" from Microsoft official website, then you can save your office files to PDF format directly.
- Open file
- Click office button
- Select "save as"
- Choose "PDF or XPS"
- Your excel is saved to PDF now
With Office 2010, there is a "save as PDF/XPS" function bulit-in, so you can directly follow above steps to convert your excel to PDF.
Otherwise, you need a PDF creator as other Office versions do not supports this add-in. Some PDF creators are the following (in no particular order)

∙ 9y agoThere are many online converters that will do it for you, that require you to upload the PDF file. There are also many converters online that you can download.
Adobe Reader also lets you save files in other formats. In order to convert a PDF file into an Excel file the data must be extracted and created into a "comma separated value" (CSV), which is a type of text file, as the main file. Once that is created it can be imported into an Excel sheet. Your data will come out in one long column at first. You can then use the Text to Columns converter that Excel has to lay out the data the way you want it.

∙ 10y agoIt is possible to convert a PDF file to an Microsoft Excel file. There are many free programs that can be downloaded online. These include ZamZar and Omniformat. If you can save the PDF file as a text file, you can also import it and use the Text to Columns feature in Excel. The data in the PDF file would need to be appropriately laid out for this process.

This is dependent on the excel platform you have i.e. 2007 or 2010 etc This process allows the final document to be un-editable unless in an adobe application. Many use it to create documents that are brought together and are used in many business environments
