they are STILL making them with fold down windshields...
just dont do it. its not difficult, but it is frustating and time consuming, and unless you are in the Congo, it is pointless.
Yes, you can fold it down, but you have to remove some large screws firt, not hard though
Under the vin plate. fold the windshield forward.
The wiper motor is on the driver's side, behind the dash board. if you fold you front windshield down, that will expose your wiper motor.
I used a T40 on my 1997 Wrangler on the forward brackets of the fold-and-tumble rear seat.
You need to fold down the windshield. So undo the torque head screws on each side & fold forward carefully. The wiper motor sits right under the VIN plate on the windshield.

The wiper motor is mounted on the left inside of the windshield frame on the same bracket as the VIN. Fold down the windshield and is fully accessible.
pull the pin on the tension arm on the bows to release tension on the top, then pull down on all the sides to release it from the mounting groove, the same groove keeps the top on the windshield, then just fold it all down.
On a Jeep Wrangler it is located in the cowl. Take the wiper arm(s) off first. Undo the bolts at the top corners and the bolt in the bottom of the bracket at the bottom corners. You may need to unscrew the visor. Then fold the windshield right down onto the hood . Presto! There are your motors.
It's under the windshield. You'll have to unbolt the two roll bars that connect to it and then the two brackets on each side of the dash board. Carefully fold the windshield down on the hood and the motor will be on the driver side.
