They shouldn't take that much to drive. If you want to use 1 as a booster, I would use a mech on eng & 1 elec. w/regulator or a return line.
In most cases the life of the vehicle Try to keep fuel tank at least 1/2 full. The fuel pump uses the fuel in the tank as a coolant. A lot of failures are due to fuel pump overheating and shortening their life span
I have a problem with my 2 door Toyota rav4 2002 fuel gauge. it reads empty when in fact it is partly full. When filled up at pumps it then reads only half full. What can I do to fix this.
No, because it pumps all of the body's blood, which is 2000 gallons each day, which is certainly a full time job.
The fuel pump(s) are located in the gas tank. There are two fuel pumps, a low-pressure pump to fill the bucket that the main pump sits in , and the main high-pressure pump. The low-pressure pump is more likely to fail, which gives the symptom of running out of gas when the gas tank is still half full. If the low-pressure pump is not able to fill the bucket (which is to make sure there is gas for the main pump even when hard cornering with a low fuel level), the main pump is starved for fuel and the engine will quit. The pumps are easily accessed by removing the trunk floor. There are two circular plates in the body above the fuel tank. The larger one - on the left side - hides the fuel pumps. Removing the fuel pumps requires some tools not found in most simple tool kits. If you have any concerns, let a professional mechanic do the work.
simply age and use, one tip is they will last much longer when u never let the tank to get below half full. not only dodges any car with a fuel pump.
You will not hear a noise till you turn the key to the start position because it does not send fuel till needed to run the engine 1987? Is this a mechanical pump, if so it will not make noise, if electrical, it may have had rubber insulation on it when you put it into the tanks and they dont make much noise when full of gas. Does it have fuel pressure of any sort?
Bad fuel gauge sending unit. Unfortunately this is part of the fuel pump / sending unit assembly that is inside the gas tank. New ones are very expensive. I have had good luck with fuel pumps from a salvage/junk yard. See "Related Questions" below for more
Rear tank fuel pump probably bad. This model has in tank low pressure fuel pumps as well in line high pressure pump.
yes all trucks in 2000 have the pumps in the tank, either drop tank to change, or if it is full raise the bed up a little, just be careful of the bumper scratching the bed. if its a utility(tahoe, suburban), have fun its full you can't syphon it.

Fuel pumps for carburated vehicles typically put out less than 1 psi, typically around .25 psi. Just enough to get the fuel into the fuel bowl. The pressure needs to be small so that the float assembly can shut off flow when the bowl is full. The typical fuel pressure may not be relevant to your vehicle. Yours may require higher fuel pump pressure but not typically.
