Typically, a school that operates on a two semester academic year. First semester, either late August or early September through about the 23rd of December. Second semester, mid January through mid May.

Senioritis, also known as "senior apathy", affects everyone, regardless of sex, age, height, or race, during during a student's senior year.
The one who is still in sophomore year, but will be a junior in next semester or quarter.

The college or university will make the admissions decision based in part on that transcript. However, most will require an updated transcript immediately after completion of the students senior year.
In most schools the 100 courses are for first year students and the 101 mean the first semester of the first year. 102 would be spring or second semester. 201 would be second year first semester.

It is to early to apply for FAFSA...but you can see go to the website MakeitCount and see what your estimated EFC (Expected Family Contribution) is prior to your senior year of high school. You file FAFSA in second semester of your senior year and after.
a senior thesis is the report that you write for your senior project. In my case, the senior project was part of my master (I had a 4 month Junior project in my first year of the master and a second 8 month Senior project in the second year). The Senior thesis can also be seen as a masters thesis.
the 1st year is Freshman. The second year is sophomore. The third year is junior and the fourth year is senior.
